As a SAR team member, you are a vital part of your community’s response to people in need, disasters, and the needs of law enforcement. That community includes not just the Fillmore team’s designated domain stretching across the Sespe Wilderness and the highest peaks in northern Ventura County, but the greater County at large and even neighboring counties.
SAR teams may also educate the public about safety practices in outdoor environments to prevent incidents.
We also take part in many public events, such as Cops and Choppers and the Fillmore Christmas Parade. We also are proud to present gifts to children in need during the holiday season. Another fun activity is supporting various races and similar events, where we patrol the course and render aid as needed.
